Mark Bartley offers a complete ski and snowboard repair and maintenance service from his workshop in the Hope Valley in the Derbyshire Peak District. His workshop is easily accessible from Sheffield, Manchester, Derby, for example.

Mark is a skilled craftsman and all the work is finished by hand, no excess is removed by machine. This attention to detail ensures a better, longer lasting finish, more economical for the user in the longer term.

During the Spring/Summer/Autumn months (April – Sept) I have a small business – Backtosash – offering a bespoke sash window repair service. I mainly work on heritage and period buildings.

Prior to this and since 1979 I was involved in the skiing and climbing industry working for companies such as Frank Davies, Ellis Brigham and Snow and Rock, starting as a retail assistant and going on to manage stores.
Along the way I trained and served time in the workshops, repairing and servicing skis and boards and mounting bindings.
I was looking for a business to set up during the winter months (Oct – April) when repairing sashes is no longer practicable due to the weather. Hey Presto!
